Asian

Asia, being the largest and most populous continent, is home to many cultures, many of which have their own characteristic cuisine. While rice is common to most Asian cuisines, different varieties are popular in the various regions. Glutinous rice is ingrained in the culture, religious tradition and national identity of Laos. Basmati rice is popular in the Indian subcontinent, jasmine rice is often found across Southeast Asia, while long-grain rice is popular in China and short-grain in Japan and Korea. Curry is a common dish in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and East Asia. Curry dishes have their origins in the Indian subcontinent, with present-day Northern India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan mainly using a yogurt base, while those in present-day Southern India, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asia generally use coconut milk as their foundation.

quote Amazing service everytime we come here. Butter chicken pie is delicious!! And they make them selves (rare from a bakery these days) spring roll also slaps!! Iced coffee is another fave! Definitely a business worth supporting. Family owned & local

quote As much as we love bal ganga, one thing this place lacks is consistency. We ordered momos (delicious btw) two times in 2 weeks. First time when the owner was there, the order was good. The second time we went, the order wasn’t complete. Momos were carelessly thrown in the container, there was no sauce with it or the special powder/masala was missing.

quote Never judge a book by its cover, or a banh mi by a poor photo! Banh mi Delights Avondale in Auckland is my last stop on my Banh mi adventure of NZ, and with changing plans comes a quick google search and a random Banh mi lunch stop. I wasn’t sure what I was going to get but the recent reviews seems pretty good. And for good reason, packed with punch this was. Lemongrass beef with extra chilli and my tastebuds were singing. Glad my plans changed. 👏

quote Best tamago katsu Don, I've had outside Japan. Just the right flavour combo for a boy from Osaka.

quote The best Bruce Lee sushi I’ve had. Every other location has not lived up to this one. Always saucy fresh ingredients.

quote My friend and were on the hunt for a spot to have a non-alcoholic beverage on Karangahape Road after work on a Friday night and we came across this café which was just up the road from his office so good location in this regard. Really liked that they opened late too as there aren't a lot of cafés that open late in the city. I think it was the owner who took our order - she was really nice. I had the chocolate brownie and to drink the passion and mango tea (NZD9.50c). Really liked the fruit tea I had and I'd order it again for sure. The brownie was a bit dry but the short bread biscuit with lemon icing was really good so I'll order this next time. Looking forward to trying out the other fruit teas and milk teas on offer! Indoor seating available and there are treats in the cabinet to order with your drink. Also possible to order drinks via their website.
