quote Checked this newly opened restaurant out due to our regular place being closed, it seems to be the only Indian restaurant around that is open for lunch on the weekends! glad I gave them a try because their $13 Thali pack was incredible value for what we paid. Ordered online and it was ready pretty much right on the estimated time, the serving sizes were amazing and it comes with everything you could need! the butter chicken was especially delicious :) I was able to save half of it for a 2nd meal! We will definitely be coming back for more. Give these guys a try!

quote I recently got take away from here and seriously could not fault them. I also had a special requirement with my order that they honestly exceeded my expectations with. Everything was cooked spot on and had good flavour. Their chips are not the freakish yellow ones, but are just natural potato, which is becoming a rare delight, but something I want in a chip. The potato cakes were damn delicious, with a hint of sweetness to them that was really nice. The fish (blue grenadier) was lovely, and the fried chicken also hit the mark. Thank you and I will definitely be back!

quote New fave fish and chips place! I wouldn't eat the gravy again, it was too thick and kinda chunky but the fish and chips were amazing! The fish was fresh, the potato cakes were crispy and delicious! They even did the Aussie classic and chucked in a few extra potato cakes for free. And they use animal fat to fry which is 10x better than canola or seed oils only. Tastes so much better and is actually better for you, so it's almost guilt free. Highly recommend this place and will be back again! Great value for money too especially in this economy.

quote Jalan Alor Malaysian Kitchen, Ferntree Gully Reviewed on 17/1/2025 Nestled away from the bustling and competitive Malaysian restaurant scene, Jalan Alor Malaysian Kitchen in Ferntree Gully offers a delightful escape with its affordable prices and authentic flavours. This hidden gem manages to keep costs low without compromising on quality, making it a standout choice for Malaysian cuisine enthusiasts. My visit took place on a weekday afternoon, and the café was buzzing with the lively chatter of Malaysian and Singaporean patrons, easily identifiable by their accents. The setting is reminiscent of a traditional kopi tiam, with its clean and welcoming environment, small tables, plastic stools, and paper cups for water, creating a cozy and unpretentious dining experience. Despite the trend of some restaurants cutting down on serving fried noodles due to high labour costs, Jalan Alor proudly offers a wide array of Malaysian favourites. From the aromatic Chow Kuey Teow (CKT) and Hokkien Mee to the flavourful Mee Goreng, nasi lemak, curry, and laksa dishes, the menu is a testament to the rich culinary heritage of Malaysia. The CKT, with its strong Wok Hei and generous sprinkling of dried pork bits, was a delight that could satisfy even the most discerning CKT critic. The Singapore Hokkien Mee, distinct from its KL counterpart which is fried with dark soy sauce, was equally impressive. Although I usually prefer KL Hokkien Mee, I found the Singapore version to be just as delicious. I suggest that a little extra gravy could improve the texture and enhance the flavour further. One of the most appealing aspects of Jalan Alor is its pricing. The dishes are more affordable compared to many competitors, making it well worth the trip to savour the authentic flavors without breaking the bank. In conclusion, Jalan Alor Malaysian Kitchen is a must-visit for anyone craving genuine Malaysian cuisine in a relaxed and friendly setting. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this café promises a memorable dining experience that will leave you coming back for more.

little-dumpling

quote This is the greatest dumpling restaurant in all the world! Our go to takeaway food always. Vegetarian dumplings are always gross mix of vegetables that no vegetarian actually wants or appreciates but Little Dumpling has made the most DELICIOUS vegetarian dumpling of all time - being the zucchini and sesame dumplings. The spring onion pancake is the best I’ve ever had (and I’ve tried so many). My husband raved about the pork and spring onion dumplings. This restaurant is an absolute gem and the best restaurant in the Eastern Suburbs. Photo taken after devouring half the pancakes because I just couldn’t wait.
