Micks Ocean Fresh

Fresh fish and seafood on display, clean, organised shop. We ordered Flake, Chips and a Cheeseburger for takeaway. The flake was the best I’ve ever had, tender and juicy, not greasy or overcooked. Chips were great and the medium serve was very generous! Cheeseburger was tasty, fresh roll and very enjoyable! Definitely return next time we’re in Bendigo!

Quick service for a lunch combo. $16 is good value for a freshly cooked burger, chips and a drink.

Sadly I can’t really rate this place! I ordered fish, chips, crab stick, dim sum and a grilled fish! Forgot to cook my grilled fish, only saw when I was back on the other side of the park, called to let them know fish was ready by the time I walked all the way back. No real apology or even a small serve of chips to compensate. Everyone has finished their lunch by the time I got back. I work in customer service - pretty poor service! The chips I got back to were cold. Waste of money.

Drove from Mildura to Bendigo Health hospital in Jan 2025 and had to find dinner. Mick's Fish and Chips near the Lake was ideal and the seafood (from Melbourn markets) fresh and freshly cooked. The salt and pepper squid (with a small salad included) was, OMG, the best we have tasted this side of the black stump. There is a small outdoor area to sit and eat and view the Lake across the road. Just perfect and they are open most of the day. Staff are friendly but it is the seafood that we concentrated on. Worth the trip from anywhere. Highly recommended.
