It is definitely not Malaysian food as it advertised to be. The decoration in the shop reminds me of Malaysia and feels just at home, and the chef looks asian. That sets the expectation that I am in for a good Malaysian meal to fix my craving.
I ordered Sambal fried rice, a Malaysian delicacy..
What came out was nothing short of a horror..
The rice was a glutinous mess without a hint of spiciness nor sambal. There was nothing fried about it, it felt like they just rice cooker cooked the rice with some corn, peas, oil etc and called it fried rice.. Uncle Roger will be screaming his head off if he sees this crime.
I was at the edge of calling 000 for the meal but luckily the portion was very little so I finished it before even feeling full, at least my torture ended early. So I paid for a meal, feeling unsatisfied, not even full, and only full of disappointment that lingered with me for days....
If the shop was marketed as Asian Delight or something, I would not be disappointed as the quality of food is to be expected. However, if it was marketed as Malaysian food with Malaysian dishes on the menu, Hell Yea you better live up to it. Especially with the malaysian chinese decoration all over the shop.
Come here if you want local style asian food. Don't come here if you want Malaysian food, unless you are into horror stories.
Abb better
While visiting the area, I decided to try this Thai restaurant and ordered some takeout. Both the service and the food were average, earning a 3 out of 5. The taste wasn't quite what I'm used to from other Asian restaurants, likely because this was my first time dining here. I'm more accustomed to the Asian cuisine available in Epping, Thomastown, and Campbellfield.

Stopped by randomly for a snack on the way back to Melbourne and found ourselves pleasantly surprised by great food! Singapore noodles were excellent and their pork dumplings had way more flavour than I expected! Banging food! Lovely family run place

My mother and I have unofficially declared ourselves noodle connoisseurs. We travel around a bit for op shopping and are always trying new noodle places. Out of all of the noodle shops in Shepparton, Benalla and Wangaratta Papa Rich in Seymour top them all. They make their own sauces which are just delish and the service is amazing and it is reasonably priced. Every week we are in town for appointments papa rich is our go to! 10/10.
