foo-hua

quote Ordered via menu log. I was a little apprehensive based on reviews but I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered my food about an hour earlier than I normally would have because they do have warnings on their dishes that the wait times may be long. I called up the restaurant to double check something in my order and the guy who I spoke to on the phone was lovely and helpful. I ended up receiving my food 45 minutes later (much much sooner than I expected due to the estimated wait time). Food was piping hot and delicious. I think that if other people do have issues with the wait time, please be patient and kind to the restaurant staff when you call in. It’s a very busy and popular place after all. There are warnings all over their menu informing you that wait times may exceed expectations, so order it earlier than you normally would, especially with large orders.

quote When I go to Wembley food court I usually head straight to Saigon Express for some pho but today I decided to to give these guys a go. There's a Bain Marie of suburban Chinese classics but also a menu of cooked to order dishes. I went for the pork and pickled bean, rice noodle soup and was pleasantly surprised. It was very tasty and I would definitely order it again.

carine-thai-cuisine

quote After the restaurant's recent renovation, we were eager to try the new Thai menu that has replaced the long-standing Italian offering. The space is now bright and open, and the atmosphere felt inviting. The menu offers a thoughtful selection of dishes, with portion sizes that are just right. While the prices are on the higher side for a casual neighbourhood spot, there are some highlights. The Thai fish cakes were enjoyable, though the spring rolls could have used a bit more flavour. The massaman curry was rich in coconut, though the meat varied in texture—some pieces were tender, others tougher. The pad Thai (chicken) was satisfying, though it didn’t particularly stand out. One thing to note is that the space can get a bit noisy due to the many hard surfaces, and with the bright lighting, it might not be the most intimate setting for a quiet dinner. Overall, it’s a nice option if you’re in Carine and in the mood for Thai cuisine. While it may not transport you to the streets of Bangkok, it offers a pleasant dining experience.

quote Great little 'miso' ramen , (not tonkotsu guys) restaurant set in empire village shops Citybeach. The service was warm and friendly. The miso ramen was a strong flavoured soup with lots of topping options, loved the cha shu and their own chilli oil topping.

kuala-lumpur-cocktail-cafe

quote We recently dined at the Kuala Lumpur Cocktail Cafe in Bassendean, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that our visit was memorable. We ordered a variety of dishes, including Maggie Goreng, Mamak Mee Goreng, Roti Banjir, Nasi Lemak with Goat Curry, Char Kueh Teow, and Roti Kaya, along with drinks like hot Teh Tarik and Sirap Ice. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with authentic Malaysian flavors that transported us straight to the bustling streets of Kuala Lumpur. The Maggie Goreng and Mamak Mee Goreng were perfectly spiced and incredibly satisfying. The Roti Banjir was a comforting blend of textures and flavors, while the Nasi Lemak with Goat Curry was rich and beautifully presented. The Char Kueh Teow had that unmistakable smoky "wok hei" flavor, and the Roti Kaya was a delightful way to end the meal on a sweet note. The Teh Tarik was expertly brewed—smooth, frothy, and just the right amount of sweetness—and the Sirap Ice was refreshingly vibrant. We highly recommend Kuala Lumpur Cocktail Cafe for anyone craving authentic Malaysian cuisine. The food, service, and overall experience were fantastic. We’ll definitely be returning to try more of their amazing menu!
