Checked this newly opened restaurant out due to our regular place being closed, it seems to be the only Indian restaurant around that is open for lunch on the weekends! glad I gave them a try because their $13 Thali pack was incredible value for what we paid. Ordered online and it was ready pretty much right on the estimated time, the serving sizes were amazing and it comes with everything you could need! the butter chicken was especially delicious :) I was able to save half of it for a 2nd meal! We will definitely be coming back for more. Give these guys a try!

Last minute booking for 7, parked outside the place was dead quiet. Was thinking we made a mistake. Chef comes out to greet us and tells us about tonight's special. I didn't really pay attention, due to kids stuffing about. we're the only customer in the restaurant. My foodie friend proceeds to over order as usual. The food was amazing, the front of house lady made our Thai milk tea which was perfect about of sweetness. Not the overly orange mix you would usually get and then having to water down the condense milk. This was proper Thai milk tea. I am surprised the place was dead quiet on a Saturday night. Down the street was an ordinary Thai place and it was booming. The chef here has way more skills. I've uploaded pics, this must be the best that food around the 15km radius. Will take my parents here, they will love it.

This is a small, unassuming street-side shop where I happened to have dinner. To my surprise, the food was exceptionally delicious—the sweet and sour pork was tender and flavorful, and the tofu casserole was rich and tasty…

Delicious, authentic South Indian food. I was not expecting this little local place to be this good. The Manchurian chicken was SO tender and delicious. The paper dosa was crispy and buttery. Cannot fault a single thing we ate here.

The setting is reminiscent of a traditional kopi tiam, with its clean and welcoming environment, small tables, plastic stools, and paper cups for water, creating a cozy and unpretentious dining experience. Despite the trend of some restaurants cutting down on serving fried noodles due to high labour costs, Jalan Alor proudly offers a wide array of Malaysian favourites. From the aromatic Chow Kuey Teow (CKT) and Hokkien Mee to the flavourful Mee Goreng, nasi lemak, curry, and laksa dishes, the menu is a testament to the rich culinary heritage of Malaysia. The CKT, with its strong Wok Hei and generous sprinkling of dried pork bits, was a delight that could satisfy even the most discerning CKT critic. The Singapore Hokkien Mee, distinct from its KL counterpart which is fried with dark soy sauce, was equally impressive. Although I usually prefer KL Hokkien Mee, I found the Singapore version to be just as delicious. I suggest that a little extra gravy could improve the texture and enhance the flavour further. One of the most appealing aspects of Jalan Alor is its pricing. The dishes are more affordable compared to many competitors, making it well worth the trip to savour the authentic flavors without breaking the bank. Newly opened Malaysian restaurant that’s been drawing crowds and constantly busy. First off, the food. It’s not the kind of meal that will blow your mind, but it’s comforting and decent. The real star here is the price. There’s a range of dishes for $10, it’s an incredible bargain! While the flavors might not be groundbreaking, the value for money is undeniable. I’ll keep coming back as long as the prices stay low. But, if they eventually revert to the $15-$20 range, I might reconsider. For now, though, it’s a budget-friendly gem worth checking out.
