foo-hua

quote Food ok, average price for takeout, not the greatest manners but happens sometimes. Restaurant could do with a good clean, quite run down looking. Parking is easy, cooks food fast.

quote I haven't been here for a while so I decided to pop in for lunch with a work colleague since we were in the area. I noticed quite a few things have changed since the last time I was here for a meal, maybe 6 - 8 months ago. I guess costs have gone up and they've had to cut back wherever they can. They no longer have the Maggi chilli sauce bottles on the tables. If you want it, you'll need to get it from the counter. They claim to have new items added to the menu eg Sarawak Laksa, although I could've sworn it was already on the menu. I'll need to visit again to try their version of Sarawak Laksa. Pictures look legit and pretty tempting, so I guess I'll have try it soon. We ordered a Singapore Fried Mee hoon, Nasi Lemak with chicken curry and a serve of fried wontons. All washed down with a couple of Cokes. I added extra noodles and a fried egg on top of my fried mee hoon. Fried egg was $4 and so was the extra meehoon. A bit steep but I figured I'd give it a go. Wait time for food to come out was around 10 - 15 minutes, which I suppose is pretty good considering all tables were full in the shop i.e. very busy. Singapore Fried Mee Hoon portions seem to have gotten significantly smaller. I thought at first I had received the regular portion instead of the extra noodles. However, the server confirmed that what I received was with extra noodles. The fried egg was done nicely. Crispy chewy white and the egg yolk was just runny enough. Flavourwise, there was a bit of wok hei to the noodles, but it wasn't spectacular. Had to put lots of the Maggi Chilli Sauce to give it that flavour boost. The photo I took of the fried meehoon was after I put the sauce on. Feedback from my colleague about his Nasi Lemak was that it was OK although the sambal seemed to be a bit bland and portion sizes seem to have been reduced also. The fried wontons were just as good as I remembered them to be so that's a plus.

quote Food here is pretty good and served quickly after ordering. Portions for the dishes are also generous. Staff are friendly and polite however they did not fill up the tea pots as regularly. The table arrangement felt a bit cramped but it was lucky that diners were spaced out. Overall still an enjoyable evening.

bull-creek-hawker

quote Local hawker restaurant. Basic furnishings. Order at the counter and dishes are served at your table without asking who it belongs to. Don’t expect great service. But the ladies there are very friendly and look like they have some regular customers. Food is good and servings are very generous. Ordered the Hor Fun with egg sauce. Nice with wok hei and very generous portion. Loh Bak is very moist. Laksa, when you add the Sambal makes it more oomph. Overall a nice little restaurant serving great Malaysian style hawker food. Must try

quote A lovely local community Chinese restaurant in North Perth. Yummy fried lobster with Ginger and Shallots, steamed scallops, beef with wasabi sauce and house fish soup were fantastic. As a frequent business traveller from Hong Kong, very happy to enjoy the yummy food and excellent service. Impressive and well done!

quote Update: 1st December 2024 Food were still great! My friend commented that they have one of the best Pad Thai noodle as it wasn't too sweet. Great little restaurant to catch up. Haven't been to Garden Thai for ages, decided to try it again for a friend's birthday. Food were delicious especially the 3 flavoured fish and papaya salad, could taste the freshness of the food, although I would prefer a bit spicy, but it's only me, I love spicy food :) might request to add chilli next time :) service was good. Table was a bit too small for 5 people as we ordered few dishes, but it was all good. Prices were reasonable. Overall highly recommended, will definitely be back again.
