We had a dine-in experience at Kalavara. The food was excellent,
that is the reason I have given them five stars.
The place is nice and clean with a simple setout.
Chicken Pepper was excellent, and Kerala paratha was authentic.
As good as it gets.
We tried other South Indian dishes, and they were spot on.
We did not try any North Indian Food, so we can't comment on it.
They serve alcohol at the venue, and beers are priced between $6 to $8. Not too bad.
We tried fish fry and it was lovely.
A fried Indian Bangda cost us $6.
I would revisit the place. The wait staff was friendly.
The place is located in Browns plains and is open for lunch as well.

My wife and I enjoyed a Keralan dinner at Kalavara Indian Cuisine on 4th January 2024. The dishes to go with our plain basmati rice were Kerala chicken roast and Fish molee. Both these dishes complemented each other and their taste was exquisite and authentic and a real treat to our seasoned palates. Our drinks were mango lassi and lime tea (Sulaimani). The wait staff were very polite and inviting and made our dining experience a delight. Thank you Dhanya, Matthews and Alna. No doubt, we will be returning to Kalavara to savour the other mouth-watering dishes on their menu.

Sorry guys - you really dropped the ball tonight. Since we discovered you last year, we have ordered on more than a few occasions. Your food is usually amazing, however, after just eating a little of our meal this evening - we were pretty unhappy.
My husband's Butter Chicken was its usual 10/10 - thumbs up! My Lamb Madras was a huge disappointment - the meat was very dry and chewy. Also - either the sauce and/or the lamb was unpleasantly salty - definitely not good.
We added a garlic naan with our order. Looking at it, I could see no visible moisture. We are used to your quality naan bread - so were surprised and
very unhappy to eat the cold, dry and partly burnt naan; it also absolutely lacked any decent garlic flavour.
I always order one of your lovely chicken dishes - so now I 'm left wondering whether or not to ever try a lamb meal again or whether this was just a one off mistake.
