I came here a few years ago, and reacted badly to the msg. Since then I stopped coming to Hey until tonight as it was en route from seeing my dad.
I just wanted a quick meal and run. I walked into what seemed like an old kopi diam, with squishy spaces. It was abustle with happy patrons enjoying their meals which I didn't pay much attention to as I was not expecting much, except to confirm my assessment from a million moons ago.
I ordered a hor fun with egg sauce and the weekend special, yong taufu laksa. We got the chopsticks and did the usual clean. Before we knew it, the hor fun arrived. Looked good with generous ingredients and a wok hei flavour about it.
My yong taufu laksa arrived shortly after which was nice and I was gobsmacked! It looked amazing!! And it tasted like no YTL I have ever tasted!! The first thing was the taufu wafer (?), then the full-sized fresh okra, not slimy or squishy but fresh! The fish paste in the YT was generous and so fresh!! Huge large pieces that struggled to fit in my mouth.
The soup was creamy with the coconut, and sambal - authentic. It had the crunch of fresh taugeh and choy sum.
My son also preferred the hor fun compared to other places and he's a connoisseur of HF, with a fussy criteria. I will try that next time.
This should be a 5-star review but I'll reserve that for the next visit.
As we walked out into the balmy carpark, I felt like I could have been back in Asia somewhere. We were done in less than 30 minutes!!!
And to my surprise, all that was less than prices at most places. For the quality and quantity, we're definitely returning!!
Yea, proved wrong!!

Great atmosphere with the pictures on the walls brought me back to the time I was in travelling in Turkey.
The Staff were friendly and very helpful when choosing the food for Lunch.
Everyone at the lunch enjoyed their ordered meals. Very favour full and authentic delicious. I had the dumplings with yogurt & sauce.
There is plenty of parking in the front of the Restaurant, at the time I was there at 12:30pm to 2:00pm on Sunday.
This parking area is also easy access to the entrance for disabled or elderly people.

Review of Royal Rasoi
I recently dined at Royal Rasoi in [east Victoria park] for a casual dinner. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with vibrant decor that beautifully reflected Indian culture. The service was excellent—staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu.
The food was the highlight. I tried the Paneer Tikka, which was perfectly spiced and flavorful. Overall, Royal Rasoi delivered a delightful dining experience, and I would highly recommend it for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine.

I ordered Madras Biryani, Chicken Manchurian, Naan, and Aloo Kulcha.
Overall, the experience was disappointing. The food quality was below average – the biryani and aloo kulcha seemed reheated, which detracted from the freshness. Additionally, the portion sizes were quite small considering the high pricing.
The service was average. There was only one attendant managing online orders, table service, and payments simultaneously. While I appreciate her effort and dedication, this setup resulted in delays when placing orders.
The restaurant has potential but needs significant improvements in both food quality and service efficiency to meet expectations. There’s certainly room to grow into a better dining experience.

So excited to rediscover Sri Devi now in Willetton.
Their restaurant in Northbridge back in the day was my first introduction to the delights of Indian Malay cuisine and certainly fish head curry!
I was very sad when they closed but not any more!
We ordered the 1 vegetable and goat curry combo for $16.50. Sensational. Not a lot of meat in our serve but the gravy was delicious and nicely spicy.
The plain roti set for $7.50 was outstanding.
Expertly made to order and the accompanying chicken curry gravy and dal were great. In fact I think the dal is probably the best I've ever had. 🙂
We just about had room for the plain tosai $9 which was also good with more of that amazing dal and fresh, tasty chutneys.
I'd prefer the pancake a bit crispier but again can't really fault.
Warm, helpful service.
It was a wonderful lunch and although a bit of a drive absolutely worth it. We are already planning our next visit!

Delicious doner kebab. Generous serving of meat and salad. Bread was a bit too thin but not a deal breaker. A very good professional service. Both indoor and outdoor seating available.
