What a surprise to find a true taste of Hong Kong out in Beechboro—complete with BBQ roasts. We dropped in for a casual Sunday lunch and were impressed to see that, even during our short visit, the restaurant had drawn in a steady stream of local Asian diners—a quiet but strong reflection of just how genuine the food is here at Ning Kwong, translated as Tranquil River Chinese Restaurant.
We ordered a spread of Cantonese classics and were pleasantly surprised by the generous portions and that unmistakable hit of wok hei (!)—the chef is definitely not messing around. The sizzling tofu and salted egg prawns were absolute standouts, while the char siu and roast pork held their own against the best you’d find anywhere in Perth.
Service was attentive and quick—we were well looked after from the moment we were seated to the thoughtful offer of takeaway boxes for our leftovers (next day’s lunch, sorted). It’s heartening to see such a genuine and traditional experience holding up so well in this part of Perth.

My uncle and aunt in law brought us to this Chinese restaurant on the last day of our trip. They said it is one of their favorite restaurants in Perth and have been there several times. Surprisingly their dishes are overall nice and delicious especially the stir-fry beef and prawns! The owner of this restaurant is quite friendly and nice 🙆🏻♀️👍🏻

A hidden GEM in Beechboro!! The lunch special are such great value for generous portions of the dishes! The Hong Kong style milk tea is a MUST to try if you want to taste the HK style milk tea, they are so authentic here!! Remember to order the drink with less ice, so the ice won’t water down the actual flavour of the milk tea.
Come come come everyone!!

We ordered through uber eats. Food was really good! Big decent portions too! Definitely order again! Worth it, cheaper than most. Rice meat dish with a can of drink only about $19! Can't get that anywhere else.

First time ordering here. Ordered through DoorDash for pickup, staff were super friendly. When we got home, both Fried Rices dishes and the Satay Chicken were so overly salted they were inedible. Don't get me wrong, I love extra salt on my chips at Hungry Jack's but this was something else entirely. We were able to get a refund and I'm not sure if the dishes are usually this salty but nevertheless keep this in mind. Giving 3 stars because I feel bad.
