Food is always 10/10, and great prices! This has been our local fish and chips since 2021 and I wouldn’t go elsewhere. The burger with the lot is always a winner!!

Read about the KL Hokkien Noodle rave review here and thought I give it a try. Perhaps my expectations were too high. It was a little sugary sweet for my liking. The lack of wok hei dampens my anticipation. Salt fish fried rice is pretty good, CKT is average fare and I did not try the BCM because it didn’t look too appetising. Service was quick which is a plus. I reckon the Asian churches nearby brings in the lunch crowd. Overall, it is crowded for a Sunday. Patrons must be enjoying their fares. For me, it’s just ok and I should not have been swayed by the ratings.

It's a Sunday and usual after a great badminton games we will look for a good dining place for late lunch. Service & Ambience [3.5] The place only has one dine in couple and so finding a table is a breeze. The lady boss is friendly and spoke Cantonese with us. There isn't much tables inside and the setup is pretty simple. Food [4.5]. We browsed through what others reviewers have ordered and as these are also what we wanted, so we had the same. Their food are tasty and serve hot. The stirred fried beef hor fun is slightly moist as we prefer the dry version. Overall we like what we have order and surely we will be back.

Absolute gem! We visited on Sunday for lunch and cannot fault the service or food at all. Everything was absolutely delicious and cooked fresh, the dumplings and chicken/corn soup were amazing. The kids thoroughly enjoyed it and even ordered second helpings to eat at home. Highly recommend.

The setting is reminiscent of a traditional kopi tiam, with its clean and welcoming environment, small tables, plastic stools, and paper cups for water, creating a cozy and unpretentious dining experience. Despite the trend of some restaurants cutting down on serving fried noodles due to high labour costs, Jalan Alor proudly offers a wide array of Malaysian favourites. From the aromatic Chow Kuey Teow (CKT) and Hokkien Mee to the flavourful Mee Goreng, nasi lemak, curry, and laksa dishes, the menu is a testament to the rich culinary heritage of Malaysia. The CKT, with its strong Wok Hei and generous sprinkling of dried pork bits, was a delight that could satisfy even the most discerning CKT critic. The Singapore Hokkien Mee, distinct from its KL counterpart which is fried with dark soy sauce, was equally impressive. Although I usually prefer KL Hokkien Mee, I found the Singapore version to be just as delicious. I suggest that a little extra gravy could improve the texture and enhance the flavour further. One of the most appealing aspects of Jalan Alor is its pricing. The dishes are more affordable compared to many competitors, making it well worth the trip to savour the authentic flavors without breaking the bank.
